Shoreline Beachside Living: Pacific Coast Facades Brings Coastal Views to Life with Capral Aluminium Systems

Expansive glazing is a defining feature of Shoreline Beachside Living, with the 17-level residential development designed around its Gold Coast setting. The project features generous glazed openings, deep balconies and curved forms that connect the apartments with the coastline. 

Designed by BDA Architecture and developed by Marquee Development Partners, the project uses extensive glazing throughout the residences to bring natural light and coastal views into the living spaces. 

Pacific Coast Facades was engaged to manufacture and install the aluminium glazing package, incorporating three Capral systems across the development: AGS Commercial 419 Flushline Single Glazed, AGS Commercial 50 Series Awning Windows and AGS Commercial 900 High Performance Sliding Doors. 

The AGS Commercial 419 Flushline was used across the building façade, providing a flush-glazed appearance suited to the project’s contemporary design. 

Inside the residences, AGS Commercial 50 Series Awning Windows were integrated into the kitchen and living areas, providing ventilation within the framing system. 

A standout feature of the project is the AGS Commercial 900 High Performance Sliding Door, with a 2.7m x 6m configuration creating a substantial opening between the living area and balcony. To achieve the required size, Capral tested the 900 Series with an 80mm sill to meet the project’s building requirements. When fully opened, the doors connect the living area directly with the balcony, making the coastal outlook a key feature of the space. 

Pacific Coast Facades worked with Capral’s Technical Services Group (TSG) to deliver the 900 Series in the required custom configuration. Following Capral’s testing, the team manufactured and installed the 2.7m x 6m sliding door on site, delivering the large-format opening required for the residences.
